Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations this position requires a self-motivated individual with a very strong communications skill set. Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills are inherent in the position. Physical ability is required.
Office Manager has two main roles:
- Manage and carryout in house printing and document assembly. This includes working with printing hardware, binding and cutting equipment.
- General Office Administration. Will be required to become familiar with all aspects of the business including (but not limited to) administration and clerical, managing estimates, liaising with clients and subcontractors, driving a company vehicle and attending client meetings.
Duties:
- Become familiar with and operate production equipment
- First line of contact with clients (walk-ins, phone and e-mail requests)
- Attend weekly meetings with staff to update projects
- Setup meetings and correspond with clients
- Manage subcontractors
- Maintain equipment and consumables inventory
- Manage cargo (pickups and delivery)
- Manage receivables (send invoices and follow up on payments)
- Various administrative duties
- Run errands for the office
- Coordinate/facilitate events
- Assist/facilitate focus groups, consultations, stakeholders meetings
- In house printing, binding, packaging
- Assisting video and web divisions with administration and production.
- Manage equipment rentals and rental contracts
- Maintaining day to day cleanliness of office
- Data entry and budgeting
- Travel when necessary
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Physical ability to manage heavy items (cargo and supplies)
- Ability to travel outside Iqaluit
- Canadian SIN number and residence status
A strong knowledge of Nunavut and its communities, an understanding of the cultural uniqueness of Nunavummiut and the Inuktitut language as well as social, geographical and market conditions would be highly beneficial.
